MS Dhoni To Start Training From March 1 For IPL 2020

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni is likely to begin training from March 1 for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Incidentally, the former India skipper has been out of action since India’s ICC World Cup 2019 ouster losing to New Zealand in the semifinals.

The legendary cricketer had made him unavailable from cricket since India’s ouster from the semifinals of the ICC World Cup. The cricketer from Ranchi had poor returns in the premier tournament in England and decided to take a sabbatical. During this period, the veteran cricketer worked with the Army in August. He also played an amateur golf tournament in the USA and took part in a charity football match.

There has been a lot of spoken over MS Dhoni retirement but the cricketer is yet to speak a word. But the national selectors have recently said that they have come ahead of Dhoni and the fans are unlikely to the former India skipper in India jersey once again. However, Dhoni will continue to ply his trade in the IPL for the Super Kings.

A report in TOI said that MS Dhoni is likely to arrive in Chennai on March 1 to resume training for the mega event. Meanwhile, this will bring a ray of light for the Dhoni fans that he might return to the India side for the ICC T20 World Cup. He will be joined by Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina at the training.

“He is expected to arrive on March 1. He will probably train for a couple of weeks before going back for 4-5 days and then coming back once again closer to the start of the IPL,” Times of India quoted sources close to the development as saying.
