The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic has forced all cricketing actions to stop for over two months now. As a result, cricket boards have incurred massive losses. Thus, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is mulling to field two simultaneous teams to recover the money. Speaking on the lines, former chairman of selectors MSK Prasad has picked India’s Test and T20I squad is two teams play simultaneously.
There is no dearth of talent in India currently. The introduction of the Indian Premier League has been the benchmark of youngsters to display their talent and be in the reckoning for a national call-up. Many cricketers have made their debut impressing in the cash-rich league.
MSK Prasad picks Test and T20I squads
Former chief selector MSK Prasad, who ended his term recently before the nationwide lockdown, picked India’s Test and T20I XII and put forth his views to ESPNCricinfo. Prasad, who believes he helped in creating the benchmark picked two star-studded squads.
The former India cricketer picked the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Ravindra Jadeja in the Test squad. On the other hand, MSK Prasad named KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and the likes in the T20I XII. He backed a revamped batting line-up in the shorter formats without Kohli and Rohit.
Meanwhile, India’s last full appearance was against New Zealand where they lost the ODI and Test series after winning the T20Is. The Men in Blues were playing a three-match ODI series against South Africa but BCCI had to call off midway in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
