From scoring twin half centuries in his debut match to his unbeaten 172*, Awais certainly have given glimpses of a very bright future for Mumbai Cricket. After Mumbai opting to bat first, wickets were tumbling from the other end but boy it was this young Awais who kept brilliant composure as he stitched a match saving century scoring 172* and batting till the very end. Awais though lacked support from the other end but got some mild relief when Ayush Mhatre (48*) and Aryan Shejule (32) were at the crease.

Maharashtra team in reply were cleaned up for 126 runs in 1st innings and 184 runs in their 2nd innings as Mumbai went on to win the game by an innings and 30 runs. Aryan Shejule was the star bowler coming up with a brilliant spell of 5/65 in the 1st innings which made things all the more easier for Mumbai.
