New Zealand announces T20I squad for the series against Pakistan

New Zealand named a strong squad for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against Pakistan to be played from 12th January onwards. Kane Williamson will make a comeback into the T20I squad after a long time and will captain the side.

Devon Conway would return to the squad after missing the white ball series against Bangladesh. Kane Williamson played the 50-over World Cup and featured in a 2-match Test series on Bangladesh soil before being given rest for the white ball series against Bangladesh at home.

Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson return to the squad after recovering from the injuries that he received during the 2023 World Cup. Kyle Jamieson and Rachin Ravindra have not been included in the squad.

“He’s still very much part of our thinking for the T20 World Cup in June and will come back into the reckoning for the T20 series against Australia in February.”

New Zealand will play in the 5-match T20I series against Pakistan. The first encounter will be played at Eden Park, Auckland on 12th January 2024, the 2nd one will be played at Seddon Park, Hamilton on 14th January 2024.

The third T20I will be played on 17th January at Dunedin. After this, the fourth match will be at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on 19th January 2024 and the final match will be played on 19th January at Christchurch. The 3rd and final T20I would be a day encounter.

It promises to be an exciting encounter as Kane Williamson will be returning to the New Zealand squad and looking to showcase his talent.

Mitchell Santer would be leading the side in the fourth match at Dunedin and would be hoping to prove his worth. New Zealand drew 3 match T20I series against Bangladesh at 1-1.
