New Zealand Cricket Awards 2020-21 saw the best players from the country with the most prestigious awards on the night. Skipper Kane Williamson won the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal for the fourth time in the last six years. On the other hand, Amelia Kerr and Devon Conway bagged two awards for the season. Williamson also ended up being the International Test player of the year for the Kiwis as well.
Kane Williamson brought about his best innings for New Zealand against West Indies in Tauranga. He scored a brilliant 251 in the Boxing Day Test.
He then scored another double-ton against Pakistan. The knock helped New Zealand become the first team to make it to the World Test Championship finals. South Africa pulling out from a tour down under in Australia also helped them in the process. Meanwhile, Kerr’s all-round abilities led her to win the double honours, namely Super Smash and the international T20 women award.
