Recently, the former fast bowler of Pakistan Shoaib Akhtar suggested that the Board of Control for Cricket in India and Pakistan Cricket Board should play a charity game to raise the funds for the people, who are affected by the dangerous virus in both countries. Speaking of the same, the world cup champion Sreesanth revealed that he isn’t in favour of Akhtar’s idea.

Sreesanth is making the most of his time staying indoors amid the coronavirus lockdown. He is passing his time with regular live sessions with the fans. In one of the Instagram Live sessions on Tuesday reacted to former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar’s suggestion of India-Pakistan cricket matches in Dubai to help fight the pandemic.

We are not in good terms with Pakistan – Sreesanth

Sreesanth has joined the chorus in criticising Shoaib Akhtar’s proposal of having an India-Pakistan bilateral series to raise funds in the fight against the ongoing coronavirus crisis. He said that nothing can happen between the two hostile nations until relationships improve.

“We are not in good terms with Pakistan. So, India first and health first. Personally, I am not in favour of playing any match against Pakistan unless the relations between the two countries improve,’ said Sreesanth.

During the chat session, the Kerala-born pacer was also asked to pick his all-time favourite Indian captain. Sreesanth picked 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev as his favourite Indian skipper. Surprisingly, he chose him ahead of Sourav Ganguly, who backed him to make his debut or MS Dhoni, under whom, he won two world cup titles.

On the work front, Sreesanth gained partial relief from the turmoil he has been through in the last six years. The Supreme Court revoked the life ban imposed on him from cricket for his involvement in the IPL fixing scandal.

Sreesanth’s ban is supposed to end in August this year and he will be eligible to play cricket for his state side Kerala as well as for India.
