India’s World Cup win in 2011 is one of the most iconic moments in sports history of India. It was the moment which made every Indian proud. Virender Sehwag recently shared an incident involving him and Sachin Tendulkar from the WC Final 2011.

Sehwag on Cricbuzz said that when Mahela Jayawardene was smashing Indian bowlers all around the park, he saw a shine on the wicket due to the sun setting down. Sachin Tendulkar too looked at the wicket. We both were happy that it will be a good pitch to bat at night.

“I’ll tell you a story about the 2011 World Cup final. Sachin Tendulkar was standing at midwicket, and I was standing at deep square leg. As the sun was setting, we noticed a lot of shine on the wicket. Both of us looked at it, and then looked at each other and signaled that it will be fun to bat on this wicket. Neither of us scored runs.” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.
