Finn Allen

Finn Allen was at his best during the 3rd T20I match against Pakistan at the University Oval, Dunedin on 17th January 2024. He showed his class with his brutal hitting during his superb knock and put the pressure back on Pakistan bowlers.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss again and decided to field first. Finn Allen looked cautious initially before launching an assault on Haris Rauf taking him for 28 runs in his 2nd over. He took the Pak bowlers to the cleaners not allowing them to settle. Allen completed a half-century off 26 deliveries.

He then kept piling pressure on the Pakistan bowlers with sixes at regular intervals. Allen then hammered Haris Rauf for 23 runs again to damage his bowling. It was brutal hitting by Allen reaching his century off 48 balls maintaining the momentum for New Zealand. He has been in sensational form this series with a quickfire 33 off 13 deliveries in the first match at Auckland, followed by 74 at Seddon Park, Hamilton.

Allen was eventually dismissed for a superb 137 off 62 deliveries including 5 boundaries and 16 sixes. Pakistan bowlers made a strong comeback as Tim Seifert was the next top scorer with 31.
