A trending video featuring Australian cricket stars Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa engaging in a comical conversation with a taxi driver is making waves on social media. The footage captures the amusing exchange as the driver, seemingly unaware of the World Cup-winning duo, enthusiastically discussed cricket with them.

Despite expressing his love for the sport, the driver initially fails to recognize Maxwell and Zampa, even praising Maxwell as a “good player” without realizing he was addressing the player himself. Eventually, the realization dawns on him, adding a humorous twist to the encounter. It’s worth noting that this video, generating widespread attention, is reported to be from a few years ago.

In the cricketing realm, Australia faces the West Indies in a two-Test series set to kick off in Adelaide. Despite Australia being the clear favourites, the West Indies team remains steadfast in their determination to surprise the reigning world Test champions. The Aussies grapple with the challenge of filling the void left by veteran opener David Warner’s retirement, opting to promote Steve Smith up the order and reintroduce towering all-rounder Cameron Green at number four.

Steve Smith said: “They (selectors) were obviously very keen to get Cameron (Green) in the side as well and play our best six batters, and for me it didn’t sit right to have him come in and bat up top. I’ve played for a long time and I’m an experienced player, and I think it’s something I should have done.”

While the Australian team remains largely unchanged from their triumphant 3-0 series against Pakistan, the West Indies present a different narrative. With seven uncapped players in their 15-man squad and notable absences like Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers, who opted out to focus on T20 cricket, the Caribbean side faces a formidable task.

The West Indies, once cricketing powerhouses, haven’t clinched a Test victory in Australia since 1997, and they aim to reverse the trend despite the odds stacked against them. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite, vice-captain Alzarri Joseph, and a handful of others provide the experienced core in a team seeking to defy expectations on Australian soil.
