The report states that the PCB will be more flexible in letting players join global T20 leagues, offering them additional opportunities beyond national commitments. The Pakistan cricket team is set to experience a transformative boost with the introduction of new central contracts, offering a historic increase in player remuneration.

As reported by Cricket Pakistan, Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, emphasized the PCB’s aim to acknowledge the players’ talent and commitment to the sport. Pakistani players receive historic pay raises in the latest contracts, as the board recognizes their talent and dedication. Ashraf, the new chairman, believes the cricketers’ efforts are vital for the board’s existence.

According to the report, players across all formats, including captain Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, have been presented with an impressive monthly retainership fee of PKR 4.5 million each (approximately INR 13.22 lakh).

Regarding the previous central contracts, red-ball players were earning 1.1 million rupees per month (approximately INR 3.2 lakh), while white-ball players were receiving 0.95 million rupees (approximately INR 2.8 lakh).

Furthermore, the PCB will demonstrate greater flexibility regarding the involvement of its players in global T20 leagues.

New contracts will provide a game-changing boost to the Pakistan cricket Team

A-category players will have the opportunity to participate in one franchise league, while B and C-category players will be permitted to join two and three leagues, respectively. The historic move aims to provide financial stability to players and sustain their enthusiasm and commitment to international cricket, especially Test matches.

According to the report, Misbah-ul-Haq, the former Pakistan captain and head of the PCB’s Technical Committee, has been in touch with the players regarding this matter, and the response has been positive. Pakistan is scheduled to play a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, commencing on August 22.
