Mohammad Amir had retired from International Cricket at the age of 28, quoting ‘mental torture’ by the coaching staff. He had recently requested the staff to give freedom and space to the players in order to safeguard their mental health.

Post-retirement, Amir continues to be in the news following his anger towards the coaching staff, run by Misbah-ul-Haq. He feels the ‘current mindset’ of the coaching staff was something the players could not flourish under. Amir even went on to say that there’s a ‘scary’ atmosphere in the dressing room.

With all the drama going on, it looked like the door was completely shut on Amir’s comeback once and forever. However, PCB CEO Wasim Khan has now hinted at a possible return for the pacer, who plays for Karachi Kings in the PSL.

Wasim Khan spoke to Cricket Baaz YouTube channel where he points out that Amir didn’t make the right approach considering he was a senior player in the squad.

“I also made it clear to him that the path he adopted was not right as a senior player. I think Amir is a valuable player for us even now. So we will make efforts to bring about reconciliation between him and the coaches,” Wasim told the channel.

Earlier, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has also stated that he wants to talk to Amir and understand his problems and bring him back to international cricket. Mohammad Amir, who lives in the UK now, played a total of 147 international matches for Pakistan. His wickets tally reached 259 at an average of 28.11.

Amir announced his retirement on Dec 17, 2020. The left-arm fast bowler is keen to grab a UK visa and hopes to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the upcoming seasons.
