Team India skipper Virat Kohli is not only a star in India but is a global star. Although there has been an ongoing tug war between India and Pakistan over political issues, cricket is the only medium that has brought people from both the sides together.

Kohli enjoys a massive fan following in Pakistan. During an interactive session on Instagram, Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali’s wife Shamiya Arzoo made the revelations that have garnered a lot of attention. Sometime back, a fan asked Shamiya about her favourite batsman, presuming that her favourite bowler would be her husband.

Responding to the fan’s query, Shamiya Arzoo quickly named Virat Kohli as her favourite across the globe.

Meanwhile, this is not an isolate incident. Earlier, a Pakistani fan named Rizla Rehan became an internet sensation when he said during an interview, “Mujhe Virat Dedo.”

Shamiya Arzoo married Hasan Ali in 2019 in Dubai. Shamiya, who hails from Haryana, is a flight engineer with Emirates Airlines. Shamiya’s family is settled in New Delhi. The couple reportedly met in Dubai and that is where their friendship developed which eventually got converted into wedlock.

Virat Kohli aiming to win the World Test Championship final

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is currently in the UK with the Indian team. The Asian Giants will lock horns with New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, starting June 18. It will be followed by the five-match Test series against England from August 4.

The entire Indian contingent is currently undergoing quarantine at the Hilton in Southampton. They can begin training in small groups from June 6 (Sunday) at the Rose Bowl. Virat Kohli will have his eyes set on the World Test Championship trophy with no ICC trophy under his belt as a captain.
