‘Please Don’t Judge Me When You Don’t Know My Situation’ – Prithvi Shaw Reacts After Reports Of Failing Yo-Yo Test

Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw has reportedly failed the Yo-Yo tests ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022 season. The tournament will commence on March 26 in Maharashtra.

Prithvi Shaw was part of the camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru between March 5 and March 14, as reported by Espncricinfo. The opener scored less than 15, failing to achieve BCCI’s prescribed minimum score on the yo-yo test of16.5 for men cricketers.

After reports emerged of Prithvi Shaw failing the test, the opening batter posted an Instagram story. The story read:

“Please don’t judge me when you don’t know my situation. You are creating your own Karma”

Irrespective of what the Yo-Yo test result is, Prithi Shaw will play in the Indian Premier League. As Prithvi was not injured, the fitness test was just a parameter to keep track of players. A source said to PTI,

“These are just fitness updates. Obviously, it doesn’t stop Prithvi from playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL. It’s just a fitness parameter and not the be all and end all.”

“He (Prithvi Shaw) has played three Ranji matches back-to-back. Once you play three first-class games on the bounce, the fatigue can also affect your yo-yo score,” the source added.

Prithvi Shaw on Wednesday joined the Delhi Capitals squad in Mumbai for the Indian Premier League 2022 season. They will begin their campaign on March 27 against the Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The Delhi Capitals announced former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson as their assistant coach for the Indian Premier League 2022 season. He will join the likes of Ricky Ponting (head coach), Ajit Agarkar (assistant coach), Pravin Amre (assistant coach), and James Hopes (bowling coach) as part of the coaching unit.

“With Delhi Capitals, they have got a great squad. Now is the time to win their first title. I am super pumped to get over there, work with the boys, help them out as much as I can, and hopefully, we can win the first title. Can’t wait to get over there,” said Shane Watson as quoted by Espncricinfo.
