Punjab Kings (PBKS) co-owner and Bollywood actress Preity Zinta recently interacted with fans during a Q&A session on her official X (formerly Twitter) account. One fan was curious about her conversation with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli after their match on April 20 in Mullanpur.
In that game, Kohli showcased his brilliance by scoring an unbeaten 73 runs, earning him the Player of the Match award as RCB avenged an earlier defeat against PBKS. After the match, photos and videos of Kohli and Zinta smiling and chatting went viral on social media. In one clip, Kohli was even seen showing something to Zinta on his phone, sparking curiosity among fans.
Sharing a Personal Moment
Responding to the fan’s question, Zinta revealed that she and Kohli were actually sharing photos of their children during their conversation. Reflecting on her long acquaintance with Kohli, Zinta shared that it was heartwarming to see how much he had grown, not just as a cricketer but also as a person.
“We were showing each other pictures of our children and talking about them! Time does fly… When I first met Virat 18 years ago, he was a spirited teenager buzzing with talent and fire — today he still has that fire and is an icon and a very sweet and doting father,” Zinta wrote in her response. Her heartfelt words highlighted the deep respect and affection she holds for Kohli, who has evolved from a passionate young player to one of the biggest names in cricket and a loving father.

While the friendly chat off the field grabbed attention, Kohli continued to let his bat do the talking. In a subsequent match, he scored his sixth half-century of the season, helping RCB defeat Delhi Capitals and climb to the top of the IPL points table. Facing a tough start at 26 for 3 while chasing 163, Kohli steadied the innings alongside Krunal Pandya.
The duo stitched a crucial 119-run partnership off 84 balls, completing the chase in 18.3 overs and maintaining RCB’s unbeaten record away from home. Speaking about the team’s strength in finishing games, Kohli mentioned the contributions of players like Tim David and Jitesh, highlighting how the team’s firepower towards the end of the innings has been crucial to their success.
