Perhaps, one of the most missed batsman in recent times would be Prithvi Shaw. The youngster who was appreciated for his brilliance was banned from the game for some time now. Failing to realize the consequences of drug consumption during a tournament cost him a lot of opportunities. Prithvi Shaw’s backdated suspension is all set to end next week (November 15). Now the question is, is he in the race for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy?
In a recent interview, Milind Rege, one of the key members in the management of the Mumbai side said that Shaw is under consideration. This will be one of the best opportunities for the youngster to take the center stage after a forgettable series of incidents.
“He will be free to play from [November] 16, so of course he will be considered for selection, I can’t make any commitment to whether he will be back, but we will certainly discuss his selection,” said Rege to ESPN Cricinfo.
Mumbai side would have already played six games if Prithvi will be considered for the selection after November 15. If things go well, he might make it to the game against Assam on November 17th. Known for his hard-hitting skills, Can he turn out to be a trump card for the Mumbai side?
Prithvi and the Indian side
In all likelihood, we could still see Prithvi in action as the T20 season spans over the month. What still remains as a mystery is whether he will be under the selector’s radar for the upcoming Internationals.
