
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently met Indian cricketers Shubman Gill and Arshdeep Singh ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy. The meeting was also attended by the families of the two Punjab-based players.
Mann shared a series of pictures on his official X handle, offering fans a glimpse of the interaction. Gill was joined by his father, while Arshdeep attended the meeting with both his parents. Sharing the photographs, Mann wrote (translated to English):
“Today, the players who brought glory to the country and Punjab, Indian cricket team vice-captain Shubhman Gill and fast bowler Arshdeep Singh came to meet along with their families. It was great to meet you.”

Shubman Gill, Arshdeep Singh, and other Team India players left for Dubai on Saturday, February 15, ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy. The Men in Blue will begin their campaign in the ICC tournament on February 20 against Bangladesh.
Returning after an eight-year hiatus, the Champions Trophy will showcase the top eight ODI teams. Defending champions Pakistan will host the tournament, but all of India’s matches are scheduled to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Shubman Gill displayed exceptional form in the IND vs ENG 2025 ODI series
India have gained significant momentum ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy, securing a dominant 3-0 ODI series win against England at home. Shubman Gill was in excellent touch throughout the series. In the first match, batting at No. 3, Gill played a brilliant innings of 87 runs.
He then returned to his regular opening spot in the second game, where he scored another half-century, making 60 runs. The right-handed batter impressed fans with a brilliant performance in the third and final ODI. He registered his seventh century in the format, scoring a remarkable 112 runs in the match.
Gill was named Player of the Series after amassing 259 runs in three matches at an impressive average of 86.33. Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh featured in just one game. The left-arm pacer was included in India’s playing XI for the third ODI, where he delivered a spell of 5-0-33-2.
