Rajasthan Royals had an eventful IPL 2021 auction which took place in Chennai on February 18 (Thursday). The champions of the inaugural IPL season, the Royals spent quite a lot of money securing services of some players for upcoming IPL season which is expected to taking place during April.
After releasing their captain Steve Smith ahead of the auction, RR’s purse comprised Rs 37.85 crore along with nine available slots (3 overseas). The Rajasthan Royals management was quite busy during the auction hours as they snared a couple of the players.
They roped in some handy all-rounders (Chris Morris, Shivam Dube), pacers (Mushtafizur Rahman) as well as spinners along with power-hitters (Liam Livingstone) in their line-up. Rajasthan shelled a whopping amount of ₹16.25 crores to secure the service of Morris – most expensive buy in the history of IPL auction.

Hence, their purse now comprises 13.60 crores. Following the auction, the RR franchise’s official Twitter account shared a hilarious post on Friday (February 19). The Rajasthan Royals franchise’s Twitter handle is already very famous for its hilarious posts along with some interesting fan-engagements.
This time around, the Twitter account shared pictures of four iconic touring spots with a hilarious caption.

Meanwhile, this year around, Rajasthan Royals will have a new skipper in young wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson. With the likes of Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer in the ranks, Rajasthan are expected to break the deadlock of the trophies in IPL 2021.
