Ravichandran Ashwin Drops An Update On His Injury

Delhi Capitals received a massive blow after star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin walked off the field with a shoulder injury. Speculations continued to rife over his participation in the remainder of IPL 2020. Two days down the line, Ravichandran Ashwin has shared an update on his injury.

Incidentally, Ashwin landed badly as he looked to stop the ball and seems to copped an injury. It looked bad right from the onset. The incident took place in the sixth over of the Kings XI Punjab innings. Glenn Maxwell pushed one passed the bowler to collect a single.

The physio had to help Ravichandran Ashwin come out of the field as he looked in extreme pain. However, the injury was not as bad as it looked. He came out at the end of the game to collect his prize during the post-match presentation ceremony.

After Shreya Iyer, who gave a positive update on Ravichandran Ashwin, the cricketer himself also had to say good things about the injury. The veteran cricketer admitted that the pain has settled down and he will be back in action soon. He also thanked everyone for all the warm wishes.

“I was in pain as I left the field last night, but the pain has settled down and the scan reports are pretty encouraging too. Thanks for all your love and support,” tweeted out Ashwin.

Soon after the tweet, Irfan Pathan and Aakash Chopra replied to the tweet stating that they are relieved to hear the good news. Meanwhile, everyone will expect Ravichandran Ashwin to come out of injury and lead the charge for Delhi Capitals.

Meanwhile, Ashwin had a terrific start to IPL 2020 scalping two crucial wickets in the only over he bowled against Kings XI Punjab. The cricketer from Tamil Nadu will look to keep up the good work in the coming games as Delhi continue their hunt for their maiden IPL title.
