Team India’s spin twins, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin’s lovely exchange on social media showcased their off-field camaraderie. Ashwin responded to Ravindra Jadeja’s fluent Tamil message congratulating his spin partner on his 100th Test for India.
Ravichandran Ashwin played his 100th Test match for India during the fifth and final game against England in Dharamshala. He also went past the 500 Test milestones in the series. Ashwin was recently felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) for his outstanding feats. During the ceremony, Jadeja, through a video, conveyed his admiration in an iconic style of Tamil cinema legend Rajinikanth. He said,
“Hi, Ash anna, congratulation on your 100th Test match and 500 Test wickets. I am very, very happy for you, and your contribution to Indian cricket has been amazing. You can continue taking a lot of wickets and sharing your mastermind with me so that I can also take a few wickets and become a great legend like you.”Â
“And we also share the same name as well. I am Ravi Indran and you’re Ravi Chandran. Meesha vachavan Indran, meesha vaykathavan Chandran (The one with the moustache Indran and the one without the moustache, Chandran),” he added.

Ravichandran Ashwin shared a few pictures from the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association’s ceremony. Jadeja replied to the Tweet asking Ashwin whether he liked his Tamil message. Responding to Jadeja’s tweet, Ravichandran Ashwin wrote,
“Jaddu. I couldn’t control my surprise and laughter through and through your message.”
Ravindra Jadeja’s Tamil message addressing Ravichandran Ashwin was inspired by a Rajnikath movie, “Thillu Mullu”. He likened their partnership to the film’s characters, Indran and Chandran. The duo has been India’s workhorse in the spin department for years, and have also played together at the Chennai Super Kings.
