Ravichandran Ashwin’s Hilarious Response To Suryakumar Yadav Following Him On Twitter

Ravichandran Ashwin was at his A-game after Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav followed him on Twitter. The Indian white-ball specialist followed to the Indian Test specialist on Twitter earlier today. Ashwin, who took 67 wickets in the World Test Championship so far had the wittiest reply to it. His response to it has already gained close to 900 retweets and over 22000 likes. Ashwin is closing in over overtaking Pat Cummins’ tally of 70 wickets in the WTC. He has a big chance to end with the most with the final scheduled to be played in June.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav has found a spot in Harsha Bhogle’s ODI and T20I playing XI for India’s upcoming tour to Sri Lanka. The veteran commentator chose a 21-member squad for the three ODI and three T20I series. This series is well and truly a test of India’s bench strength and depth as well.

India take on New Zealand in the World Test Championship final at Southampton on June 18. In addition to winning the ICC competition, Ravichandran Ashwin will also have a personal record in sight. Ashwin’s personal milestone will be the icing on the cake if India wins the WTC final.

Ravichandran Ashwin has picked up 14 wickets in six Tests in England at an average of 32.92. His record against New Zealand is impressive too, with the off-spinner having bagged 48 scalps in six games against the Blackcaps.

The ICC on Friday (May 28) confirmed that the teams playing the WTC final will be announced ‘joint winners’if the Test match ends in a tie or a draw.

It also agreed on having a ‘reserve day’ for the WTC final. June 23 will be kept as the reserve day but will only be used in case a result is not reached at in the first five days. The reserve day will also be used to make up for the lost time which cannot be recovered through the normal provisions.
