Before the Test series against Australia, Ravindra Jadeja is set to play for Saurashtra in the final round match against Tamil Nadu at M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on 24 January 2023.

Jadeja will captain Saurasthra’s side and would look to regain fitness. He has been included for the first two Test matches against Australia starting from 9th Feb onwards. The star-all-rounder bowled and batted looking in good shape.

It will be a major boost for Saurashtra as they would look to gain some valuable points after losing the previous match against Andhra Pradesh. They are currently at 26 points and would look to win to prove their worth.

Jadeja has been struggling for form since the Asia Cup 2023. He was ruled out of the Super 4 matches due to a knee injury. After that, he did not take part in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 played in Australia.

“I am feeling good to be back on the field. Very excited. Hopefully, it will come good as a team and as an individual also,” Jadeja, who will lead Saurashtra in their final Ranji Trophy Group B league match against Tamil Nadu, starting in Chennai on Tuesday, said.

India missed him badly in recent times with his all-around abilities. Jadeja underwent surgery and has been ruled out of cricketing action since then. He was at NCA doing batting and bowling. He also said that he wanted game time before the Australia series.

The Indian Cricket Team will take on Australia in the Border-Gavaskar series starting on 9th Feb. These four Test matches are a part of the ICC 2021/23 Test Championship cycle and the hosts’ Men in Blue need to win to ensure direct qualification for the finals.

BCCI included Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Kuldeep Yadav as the spinners for the first two Test matches. The first Test match will be played at Nagpur on the 9th while the second encounter will be played in New Delhi on the 17th Feb.

Ravindra Jadeja will be looking for game time ahead of the big Test series and hope to gain bowling and batting fitness.
