Meanwhile, a report in Dainik Jagran has revealed that Suresh Raina’s relative is in critical condition after an attack from the unidentified assailants in their village in Pathankot. While his uncle has died, his aunt remains in critical condition. Reportedly, the attack took place on August 19 when the family was sleeping on the terrace of their residence.
The report also adds that Asha Devi, sister of Raina’s father, is in critical condition and fighting hard for survival. On the other hand, his uncle, identified as 58-year-old Ashok Kumar, succumbed to death. The former Indian cricketer’s cousins – 32-year-old Kaushal Kumar and 24-year-old Apin Kumar have also attained injuries during the violent attack.
However, Suresh Raina is yet to comment on the same. It will be a massive blow to MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings as he was an integral part of the setup. So far, Raina has played 193 games in IPL scoring 5368 runs including one century and 38 fifties at an average of over 33. Chennai is yet to reveal any replacement for Raina; however, it is likely to come soon.
