More troubles wait for three-time champions Chennai Super Kings. After fast bowler Deepak Chahar, star batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad has tested COVID-19 positive. Along with them, 12 other support staffs have also tested positive of the novel coronavirus.
Many reports suggest that the five-day camp in Chennai has turned fatal for the Super Kings. Incidentally, the management organised a training camp for the Indian players at the MA Chidambaram Stadium before leaving for the UAE.

However, CSK management has quashed all those reports stating that all members had tested negative before leaving the country. It is likely that they have contracted the virus on their way to the UAE or in the airport.
Meanwhile, the cricketers along with the support staffs have been put into isolation. They are currently doing fine and stable. Also, the entire Chennai Super Kings team has gone into quarantine in their hotel rooms in Dubai.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has been a consistent performer for his state team Maharashtra. He was the highest run-getter for Maharashtra in the league stage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2018-19. At the IPL 2019 Player Auction, the Chennai Super Kings secured his services at his base price of INR 20 lacs.
Although he didn’t get a game last year, the youngster was in line to make his debut after a good run in domestic cricket. Now, he will remain in 14-days quarantine and will have to give two negative tests within a span of 14-hours to join the squad.
In other news, star Chennai Super Kings batsman Suresh Raina has pulled himself out of the upcoming IPL stating personal reasons. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan took to Twitter to share the news with the millions of fans. The veteran cricketer will now return to India and the franchise has offered full support to Raina.
