Reports: The India vs Ireland T20I Series Is Expected To Broadcasted On Sports 18 And Jio Cinema

The upcoming three-game T20I series between India and Ireland, set to commence on August 18, might be shown on Sports 18 and Jio Cinema. Yet, there hasn’t been any formal confirmation.

Consequently, Jio Cinema, the official broadcaster of the lucrative IPL, might find itself airing consecutive tournaments involving the Indian cricket team. Presently, they are broadcasting India’s tour of the West Indies.

Jasprit Bumrah, back from injury, will lead the second-string team after almost a year, ahead of the 2023 Asia Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup. He last competed on September 25 against Australia.

Here’s the schedule for IND vs IRE T20I series:

1st T20I: Friday, August 18

2nd T20I: Sunday, August 20

3rd T20I: Wednesday, August 23

These matches are set to take place at The Village in Dublin, starting from 7:30 PM IST onwards.

The India team for the Ireland series includes: Jasprit Bumrah (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad (Vice-Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Prasidh Krishna, Shivam Dube, Mukesh Kumar, and Avesh Khan.

There is no distinct package for international matches involving the India Women’s cricket team

The BCCI has apparently integrated Women’s international matches with its domestic tournaments like Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, as well as men’s A and women’s domestic games.

The 150-page ITT mentions that:

The ‘Other Series’ shall encompass (i) cricket matches organized by BCCI and played in India between men’s A teams, Women’s International matches, women’s teams, and all age group teams (men and women) of India and any other country/territory, along with warm-up/practice matches organized by BCCI for such teams from any other country/territory.”

According to the Future Tours Program (FTP), the Women’s team is set to have bilateral cricket series with New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, and West Indies in the coming three years.

The action follows a massive INR 951 crore investment by BCCI for five years of media rights for the Women’s Premier League.
