Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting joined the franchise back in 2018 and in the net four years has changed the fortunes of the side in the IPL. The side finished last in his first stint as coach. In 2019, they finished third in the points table and in 2020 they made it to the finals for the first time in the side’s history. They expect it to go all the way in IPL 2021 with Ponting being at the heart of it.
Meanwhile, in an interesting revelation, Ricky Ponting revealed the reason behind going cleaned shaved before every game. The former Australian captain revealed that he always makes a point to get a clean shave before a match.

In a video posted by Delhi Capitals Twitter handle, the Delhi coach revealed that his wife will probably divorce him if she sees him with a beard, which is why he has ensured that gets a shave before every Delhi game.
“If I do (keep his stubble), my wife will see me on television once, and she will probably divorce me if she sees that. I’ll be having a shave over the next couple of days. Make sure when the game day comes around… It’s always a ritual of mine anyway. I’m not sure if you guys have ever noticed this, but I’m clean-shaven the night before every game. So I’ll be having a shave for sure” Ponting said.

Ricky Ponting gave an intense speech a few days before the IPL 2021 season got underway. The video became instantly viral on social media and Prithvi Shaw even went ono say that his speech was very close to Shahrukh Khan‘s speech from Chak De India.
Meanwhile, in match 2 of IPL 2021, Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals got the better of MS Dhoni’s CSK by seven wickets. This was his first game as the captain of the side.
