Riyan Parag Breaks Silence On Search History Controversy
Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag, a promising young cricketer in Indian T20 cricket, has often been in the spotlight—sometimes for his performances and other times for his off-field antics. Recently, he found himself at the center of a controversy after his search history was accidentally leaked during a live stream.

The leaked search history contained explicit searches related to Bollywood actresses Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan, which quickly went viral on social media. However, Parag has now addressed the situation, explaining that the incident originally took place before the IPL 2024 season but resurfaced after his impressive performances in the tournament.

Parag’s Explanation of the Incident

Speaking to City1016 Radio, Parag clarified that the search history controversy was not recent but had happened earlier, before the IPL. He recalled that someone from his Discord streaming team had attempted to set him up before the tournament, but the matter was quickly taken down.

However, after the IPL concluded, where he had a strong season, the incident gained traction again. Describing what happened, Parag said, “I finished the IPL, we were in Chennai, finished the match, got on a Discord call with my streaming team, and it got publicized now, but it happened before the IPL.”

He further explained that when he opened his live stream after the tournament, he had deleted music apps like Spotify and Apple Music, so he went on YouTube to search for songs. It was during this moment that the search history was accidentally revealed, leading to widespread online discussions.

Parag’s Reaction to the Controversy

Despite the controversy, Parag chose not to publicly clarify the situation at the time, believing it was blown out of proportion. He admitted that he was initially taken aback when he realized what had happened but decided against addressing it publicly, thinking people wouldn’t fully understand.

“It just got blown out of proportion. I didn’t think it was good enough a reason for me to go out publicly and clarify everything, and no one would understand,” he explained.

Parag has since moved on from the incident, focusing on his cricketing journey. Having emerged as an important player in India’s T20 setup, he is now looking forward to making his mark on the international stage. Reflecting on his career, he expressed his excitement about representing India, stating, “Coming from Assam, I had this dream of playing for India. Really happy. Playing my first match in Zimbabwe will be special.
