[WATCH]- Ed Sheeran Takes On Rajasthan Royals Players In IPL 2025 Warm-up

English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran was spotted batting against Rajasthan Royals players during his visit to their camp ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The 33-year-old global music star paid tribute to the late Shane Warne by wearing his jersey, as the franchise shared a video of the moment on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Currently on tour in India, Sheeran has performed in multiple cities, drawing massive crowds. He also met with the England cricket team, where skipper Jos Buttler presented him with the national team’s jersey during their visit to Pune for the fourth T20I against India.

“Won the toss and asked @edsheeran to bat first,” Rajasthan Royals wrote on X.

Tushar Deshpande and Riyan Parag were among those present during Ed Sheeran’s visit, with Parag commenting:

“He’s got a good swing, I’m pleasantly surprised.”

The video ends with Sheeran holding a Rajasthan Royals jersey, while Parag poses with an Ipswich Town jersey, the football club in which the singer holds a minority stake.

Rajasthan Royals are on the hunt for their first IPL title since winning the inaugural season

The late leg-spin legend Shane Warne led Rajasthan Royals to their maiden IPL title in the inaugural 2008 season, defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a thrilling final. Since then, their best campaign came in 2022, when they reached the final but fell short against Gujarat Titans.

In IPL 2024, the Royals dominated the group stage but lost momentum toward the end, suffering a 36-run defeat to SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 2. As they prepare for the 2025 season, the franchise has undergone a significant leadership change, with Rahul Dravid replacing Kumar Sangakkara as head coach.

At the auction, their biggest signing was England pacer Jofra Archer, who returned to the team for ₹12.50 crore. The official schedule for IPL 2025 is yet to be announced.
