Team India skipper Rohit Sharma is one of the best hitters in world cricket at the moment. He has also been in tremendous form lately in International cricket ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup. The seasoned batter achieved a special landmark during the third ODI against Australia on Wednesday, September 27 in Rajkot.
Rohit Sharma unleashed an attack on the Australian bowlers in the match. He got off the mark with a boundary against Mitchell Starc. Since then, the right-hander did not hesitate in the innings to go for his shots. He slammed Starc for a six in his second over, his first off the match.
The Indian skipper went on to slam six stunning sixes. He smashed a couple of sixes off Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins’ bowling, and one each off Josh Hazlewood and Glenn Maxwell. During the course of his innings, Rohit Sharma completed 550 sixes in International cricket. He became the second and fastest to achieve the landmark. He is just three sixes away from breaking Chris Gayle’s record to reach the top of the list of Most sixes in International cricket.

India’s skipper Rohit Sharma’s form heading into the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup is a huge plus for the team. He has a stellar record in ODI cricket, scoring 10112 runs at an average of 48.85, including 30 centuries and 52 fifties. He has slammed 292 sixes in ODI cricket. The Indian opener averages 50.61 this year, scoring 658 runs in 16 matches.
In the third ODI against Australia, Rohit Sharma scored 81 runs off 57 deliveries, with five boundaries and six sixes. This is his only match in the ODI series, as he was rested for the first two matches.
