We share a great relationship: Rohit Sharma on Shikhar Dhawan

Recently the duo was in conversation with Mayank Aggarwal on the bci.tv show “Open nets with Mayank”. Rohit explained that from a very young age he and Shikhar started playing together. Both share a great relationship off the field which is one of the reasons why they have been so successful as a pair.

“More than anything on the field, we share a great relationship off the field. Knowing each other so well, understanding each other’s comforts and discomforts, that is very important. We shared rooms when we went on India-A tours. So we have got a lot of history together. As a person, we both know each other quite well and that helps a lot on the field”, said Rohit while speaking with Mayank Aggarwal and Shikhar Dhawan.

Shikhar also agreed with Rohit and stated that they are comfortable while batting due to their friendship. The Southpaw also said champions trophy in 2013 in England was a turning point in both their careers. He also hoped to continue his batting partnership with Rohit for another few years.

“We clicked on the field from day one and especially after we started opening for India in the 2013 Champions Trophy. However, we shared a good friendship even before that, right from U-19 days”.

“So that comfort reflected during our partnerships on the field. It has been a beautiful journey with him. I have enjoyed it thoroughly and hopefully, we can carry it for another few years”, said Shikhar Dhawan.
