Mumbai Indian’s captain Rohit Sharma, the man who leads his team from the front, won the Indian Premier League trophy five times for his team. However, Sharma now looks on a different mission. Apart from taking the team’s responsibility, he is also spreading awareness regarding environmental issues.

During their IPL 20201 season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rohit donned spikes that had ‘Save the Rhinos’ art. Again, on Tuesday, Rohit sported another pair with different messages printed on it. This time he brought the awareness for a “plastic-free ocean”.

Rohit Sharma comes up with another social message

Both Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh are seen making their fans aware of the environmental issues. For a long time, Rohit has been supporting the attempt to save the Great One-Horned Rhinoceros or the Indian Rhinos, the endangered species.

“The other cause that’s extremely close to my heart. This one hits hard! This is a hundred percent in our control to reverse. I take my cause with me while I go out and do what I love! I walk out with my cause but it won’t end there, I need you guys to walk with me. Let’s get our oceans healthy again,” Rohit Sharma wrote on Twitter on Wednesday and shared the picture of the shoes.

“I walk out with my cause but it won’t end there, I need you guys to walk with me. Let’s get our oceans healthy again,” he added.

Despite a bouncy start against Kolkata Knight Riders last night, Rohit’s blue brigade bounded back and removed Kolkata’s top batsmen quickly when the latter had 31 runs left in 31 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders started their batting in fifth gear and headed for a crash later to lose the match by 10 runs in a low-scoring thriller.

After losing the first game against RCB, Mumbai Indians have bounced back in a grand manner. On the other hand, Kolkata defeated Orange Army in their first game but lost their second one to the defending champions. Both the teams have lost one game and emerged victorious in the other.
