Legendary wicket-keeper MS Dhoni has groomed many youngsters in his fantastic career. The best thing about Dhoni is he doesn’t drop players after one or two failures. Mahi makes sure to stick with the same playing XI and gives players enough chances to get back in form.
MS Dhoni has backed young Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad a lot. Ruturaj has been supported by MSD and CSK management even after many disappointing performances. Gaikwad was the find of the tournament for CSK in the disappointing IPL 2020 season.
Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was allowed to bat at the top order despite few failures. Eventually, Ruturaj delivered a sensational performance by scoring three consecutive half-centuries in the 13th edition of IPL.
Taking about MS Dhoni to Anand Bazaar Patrika, Gaikwad said the legendary skipper has backed him at the top order in IPL. He said:
“Mahi Bhai always helped me. I was not getting a run at the beginning of this time in IPL. I still did not lose confidence and regularly opened. The confidence that Mahi Bhai has placed in me has helped me.”

Mahi Bhai advised not to fall into the trap: Ruturaj Gaikwad
The 24-year-old Ruturaj Gaikwad revealed the advice Dhoni gave him to become a successful batsman. Gaikwad stated MSD told him to ignore what opposition players say on the field and just focus on the quality of delivery.
The former Indian skipper has succeeded by ignoring sledging and remaining cool all the time and advised the same thing to the youngster.
“Mahi Bhai always used to say not to play without seeing the name of the opponent. Success is achieved by batting according to the quality of the ball. Opponents will try to warm their heads in many ways. Mahi Bhai advised not to fall into that trap. The advice he gave during his visit to Sri Lanka will help a lot,” Ruturaj Gaikwad signed off.
