Sam Curran Reveals CSK’s Late-Night Training Sessions With MS Dhoni

As IPL 2025 approaches, fans eagerly anticipate what could be MS Dhoni’s final season in professional cricket. Despite retiring from international cricket in 2020, the legendary Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain continues to mesmerize both fans and teammates. England allrounder Sam Curran, who has rejoined CSK for this season, recently spoke about Dhoni’s immense popularity.

In a conversation with former England captain Nasser Hussain on Sky Sports, Curran described how local players go to great lengths just to catch a glimpse of Dhoni at practice. He shared an incident where he, Dhoni, and Ravindra Jadeja were training as late as 11:30 PM, hitting balls under floodlights while young cricketers sat in awe, simply watching Dhoni bat.

MS Dhoni’s Charismatic Aura and Leadership

Beyond his incredible skills on the field, Dhoni’s presence has a significant impact on those around him. Curran spoke about the unique aura Dhoni carries, making everyone feel comfortable in the dressing room. He highlighted how Dhoni’s calm demeanor during high-pressure situations sets him apart from others.

According to Curran, Dhoni never panics, regardless of the match scenario. His ability to remain composed has played a key role in CSK’s multiple IPL triumphs. Curran also mentioned that even off the field, Dhoni fosters a relaxed team environment. He keeps his hotel room open for teammates, allowing them to stop by to play FIFA or have discussions about cricket. However, his massive fan following means he rarely leaves the hotel, as he gets swarmed by admirers wherever he goes.

CSK’s Squad for IPL 2025 and Upcoming Matches

Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, CSK retained MS Dhoni for INR 4 crore, ensuring his presence for at least one more season. Meanwhile, Sam Curran, who previously played for Punjab Kings, has returned to CSK for INR 2.4 crore and is expected to contribute significantly with both bat and ball.

Chennai Super Kings will kick off their campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 23 in Chennai. With Suryakumar Yadav leading Mumbai in the absence of Hardik Pandya, CSK will be eager to start the season with a strong performance. Fans are eagerly waiting to see Dhoni back in action, potentially for one last memorable run in the IPL.
