On Tuesday, August 12, Team India batter Sanju Samson shared a training picture on social media. The 30-year-old last appeared in IPL 2025 for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), but injuries disrupted his campaign. He featured in nine matches, amassing 285 runs at an average of 35.62 and a strike rate of 140.39, with one fifty to his name.
Rajasthan had a forgettable season, finishing ninth in the standings. The Kerala wicketkeeper-batter is likely to be included in India’s squad for the 2025 Asia Cup, set to start on September 9 in the UAE. India have been drawn in Group A alongside Pakistan, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.
In preparation for the upcoming tournament, Samson joined Kerala Police personnel for a training session at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium. He posted a snapshot from the workout on his Instagram stories, captioning it:
“Training with Kerala police athletes…not easy.”

Sanju had a forgettable run in his latest international assignment, the five-match T20I series against England earlier this year. The hosts dominated the contest 4-1, while the right-hander found it tough to score, managing just 51 runs across five innings at an average of 10.20 and a strike rate of 118.60, with a top score of 26.
