[WATCH] Sanju Samson’s Brilliant Fielding Dismisses Liam Livingstone

In the ongoing IPL 2024 match, the Rajasthan Royals bowlers showcased a commendable display, restricting the Punjab Kings to a modest score of 147/8 after being put into bat. Keshav Maharaj, a recent addition to the team, made an impactful debut in the IPL by securing his maiden wickets.

Meanwhile, Avesh Khan continued his excellent form, claiming two wickets for 32 runs, thereby boosting Rajasthan’s aspirations to solidify their position atop the points table. Notably, Rajasthan’s fielders also exhibited exceptional skills, particularly at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, thwarting Punjab’s attempts to amass a score surpassing 150.

Captain Sanju Samson once again commanded attention with his remarkable fielding prowess, executing a brilliant run-out of Liam Livingstone during the 18th over.

A pivotal moment arose when Ashutosh Sharma, deployed as an impact player, played a delivery from Yuzvendra Chahal towards deep mid-wicket and initiated a quick single.

Despite Livingstone’s attempt to push for a second run, Ashutosh declined, compelling the English batsman to retreat to his crease. Samson’s acrobatic efforts came to the fore as he adeptly gathered a low throw from Tanush Kotian and swiftly flicked the ball onto the stumps while descending to the ground.

Upon review, Livingstone was found marginally short of the crease, leading the third umpire to rule him out, thereby highlighting the significance of Rajasthan’s meticulous fielding efforts in limiting Punjab’s total.

Punjab, currently occupying the fifth position in the standings, have secured victory in two out of their five matches thus far, with their sights set on clinching their third win of the season. In their most recent outing, they endured a narrow defeat to SunRisers Hyderabad by a mere two runs in an exhilarating encounter. Their upcoming challenge pits them against the formidable Mumbai Indians in Mullanpur on April 18.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan, leading the table, commenced their campaign with four consecutive victories but stumbled in their last match against the Gujarat Titans, losing by three wickets. The team, captained by Sanju Samson, is geared up for their upcoming IPL fixture against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on April 16.
