qThe Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore contest wasn’t expected to be a high scoring affair as Virat Kohli’s RCB triumph over the Steve Smith-led RR. The Royal Challengers Bangalore batsmen Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli’s fifties ensured that RCB have this win under their belt as they chased down the target of 154 comprehensively in the final over of the innings. With this win, RCB now goes up to the first position in the points table.

At the toss, Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith and elected to bat first. A decision which was understandable considering the fact that batting second would’ve meant due coming into play which could’ve posed a problem for the side batting second.

Well, we’re not quite sure if Rajasthan made the right call here as they lost their top 3 ( Jos Buttler, Steve Smith, Sanju Samson) in the powerplay which also included Yuzvendra Chahal’s stunning one hand take to dismiss Samson.

Robin Uthappa’s Struggle In The Middle Order Continues

The Royals side looked in complete dismay as the duo of Robin Uthappa and Mahipal Lomror were expected to lift the RR from the hole they were sinking in. Uthappa struggled to get the scoreboard ticking and eventually giving his wicket to Yuzvendra Chahal.

It was Mahipal Lomror who led the battle alone along with small contributions from Rahul Tewatia and Jofra Archer down the order taking Rajasthan Royals across the score of 153 at the end of 20 overs.

Sanju’s Wicket Was The Most Special One: Yuzvendra Chahal

The man of the match of today’s game Yuzvendra Chahal said that he’s enjoying playing the IPL in the UAE since the grounds are bigger which means he has more opportunities of giving the ball more flight. He further talked about how batsmen take fewer chances after an early wicket so he just varies the pace in his remaining spell.

“I’m enjoying a lot because the grounds are bigger and I can flight more. When you come into bowl, when you get a wicket in the first over, it makes you confident. They take fewer chances and then I just vary the pace,” Yuzvendra Chahal said.

Sanju Samson’s wicket was indeed a very special for Chahal as he picked his wicket on the very first delivery. He further added how he misses bowling at the Chinnaswamy stadium but he cherishes bowling in the UAE as the boundaries are bigger.

“I think Sanju’s wicket was the most special one. The first ball I got a wicket and I knew the wicket was slow. These boundaries are good for spinners. I miss Chinnaswamy, but here you can bowl the googles and the wide ones, and on the leg side because the boundaries are bigger,” Yuzvendra Chahal added.
