The RCB juggernaut rolls on as they record another win in IPL 2020. It was a complete performance from Virat Kohli and his men against Rajasthan Royals at Abu Dhabi. TRCB bowling attack led by Yuzvendra Chahal never allowed the Royals batsmen to bat freely.

The wickets of Jos Buttler and skipper Steve Smith early set the Royals back as after that it was all RCB. Mahipal Lomror was the only shining light for, Rajasthan Royals as his resolute knock took them to a total of 153.

RCB Defeats The Rajasthan Royals

The Royal Challengers Bangalore chase was expected to be tricky as the track was gripping and was expected to assist the slower bowlers. However, the young Devdutt Padikkal once again was off to a flyer as he dominated the bowling attack of RR.

After the fall of the first wicket, in walked their skipper Virat Kohli who thus far had struggled to score runs. Kohli initially took his time and gave the strike to Padikkal. Once he got his eye in there was no stopping as unleashed his strokeplay at every corner of the ground.

We Need To Keep The Momentum- Virat Kohli

Meanwhile, both Padikkal and Kohli reached their respective fifties and wrapped up the match with 5 balls to spare. This is now RCB’s third win of the season in 5 matches and is now sitting at the top of IPL 2020 table.

Here’s what the winning captain Virat Kohli had to say after the match.

“Very important two points. The kind of game we had last time, it’s very important to back that up. It was warm, but coming from Dubai, this felt better because of the breeze. It’s a funny game, an amazing game and I was telling Jos that I love this game and hate it too; it’s something you need to understand [bad form] but when the team’s doing well, you get more time to apply yourself.

This tournament can get away from you very quickly. When you start losing initially, the games start going quickly and suddenly you realise 8 games are gone and you don’t have points”, said Virat Kohli after the win.

“We need to keep up the momentum. There wasn’t much to reveal [to Devdutt] and I told Simon this guy’s got serious talent – reach, and a great eye. And a left-hander, very clean shots You hardly feel he’s taking risks, you get that feeling rarely at this level. Today he carried from 40 to 65 odd, so he’s a smart guy and he understands the game well”, Kohli added.
