The relationship between the two heart and souls of the Royal Challengers Bangalore side Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers has always been in the talks. Whether it’s them playing on the field or them having fun off the field, we certainly do understand that those two share a very strong and powerful bond. Which is very evident as its seen when they’re batting during an RCB game.
Even when the two aren’t playing for the same side, we have often seen them share a laugh or two during an India – South Africa. All in all, it won’t be wrong to say Kohli and de Villiers are best friends. Very often than not we’ve also seen how the two back each whilst playing for RCB.
The franchise hasn’t had many good days in the IPL but Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have always tried their best to bring out their best while playing for the men in red.
I picked the term biscuit from a South African slang: Virat Kohli
Recently in a video posted on RCB’s social media handles, we noticed the RCB skipper Virat Kohli referring to AB de Villiers as a biscuit. When asked about why he refers to him as biscuit, Kohli said he picked it up from a South African slang which means you keep the people you like close to you.
“I picked it from South African slang, so people that you like, you are close to, you call them a biscuit, biscotti. Because everyone loves biscuits, right?” the RCB captain said.
Virat Kohli was further asked about his first-ever interaction with the Proteas player to which Kohli replied by saying he first properly met him in Johannesburg. Where the two interacted at the stadium and spoke about how they both look forward to playing alongside each other for RCB.
“In 2011, Johannesburg is when we said hello to each other properly. It was at the stadium where there is a tunnel where we come out through. They had already practised and we arrived for practice and I said – hello, I am really looking forward to playing with you (at RCB). He responded by saying he was also excited to play for RCB.”
