The former all-rounder without a doubt named current India skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Kohli and Rohit are modern-day greats and have scored the bulk of runs for India across formats in the last decade.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the pillars of Indian cricket. The current India skipper averages over 50 in all the three formats while Rohit is the only batsman to score three double centuries in ODI cricket.

Rohit had an outstanding 2019 World Cup finishing as the highest run-scorer. He accumulated 648 runs from nine matches including five centuries – which is the most by a batsman in one edition. With 1490 runs from 28 matches, Rohit Sharma was also the highest run-getter in ODIs last year while Virat Kohli finished at the second spot with 1377 in 26 matches.

Both of them played their last game against New Zealand. While Kohli led India in all the formats, Rohit suffered an injury during the T20Is and missed the ODIs and Tests. Since then, they have been spending times with their families due to the ongoing lockdown owing to COVID-19 pandemic.

They will return during the IPL scheduled to commence from September 19 in the UAE. IPL Governing Council will meet today via video conference to discuss in detail on the schedules and logistics of the tournament.
