Indian pace bowler Shardul Thakur was in all smiles after a terrific performance in the 4th T20 against New Zealand . Thakur came into bat for India when the team was in the need of a partnership and scored an all important 20 runs off 15 balls and stitched an important partnership with Manish Pandey which helped India reach a total of 165. 

Shardul Thakur also bowled very well as the pacer gave only 22 runs in 4 overs with taking two important wickets in the last over with defending 7 off the last over helping India take the game to the super over and win the game in the super over. 

Shardul Thakur said in the post match presentation after he was declared the Man of the Match for his all-round performance, which helped India win the tournament comfortably.

The Palaghar Express expressed happiness and satisfaction and said " You couldn't ask for anything more. This is what we play for, these nail-biting finishes. After the last game, we learned that we should never lose hope. If I bowl a dot ball or a wicket ball, the pressure is on them. It was important to stretch the partnership in the middle, and should have carried on until the 19th and 20th over, so hopefully next time things turn out better for me."

India will now play New Zealand in the last T20 at Mount Maunungai on 2nd February.
