SRH made a comeback in the death overs and dragged the total below 200. T Natrajan was once again precise with his Yorkers and contained the DC batsmen towards the end.
The run chase of SRH began on the worse possible note as their skipper David Warner got out for just 2 runs. They again needed Kane Williamson to once again contribute and he did exactly that. Williamson looked a class apart and produced a scintillating knock. At one point it seemed he will once again take his side home in an exciting finish.
Fortunate To Have An Amazing Side- Shreyas Iyer
However, the golden arm of Stoinis dismissed Williamson for 67 and turned the tide in favour of DC. Then it was up to Kagiso Rabada who picked 2 crucial wickets of Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan and played a pivotal role in DC’s victory.
Eventually, Rabada finished with figures of 4-29 and was the best bowler of DC. Also, it was a brilliant all-round effort from Stoinis who first scored 38 and then chipped in with 3 massive wickets. Here’s what Shreyas Iyer said after the win in the post-match presentation.
“Best feeling ever. The journey has been a rollercoaster. End of the day we stuck together as a family. Very happy with the effort every individual has put in. Has taught me many things. A lot of responsibility comes with being a captain. But have been getting support from coaches and support staff. On top of that, the team has been so special. Really fortunate to have such an amazing team”.

“The emotions keep going high and low, so you can’t have the same set of routines. Have to keep chopping and changing. Hoping that in the next game as well, against MI the biggest team, we’re able to play freely. Were going at 10rpo, but we know Rashid can be lethal in the middle. The plan was to not give him wickets. Were lacking with the opening partnership. Needed a rocket start, We thought if he goes and plays maximum deliveries he can give us a good star”, said Shreyas Iyer.
