Delhi Capitals pulled off one of the best games in the history of IPL beating Kings XI Punjab in a Super Over. Despite an overwhelming victory, all eyes were on Ravichandran Ashwin’s injury, who copped a shoulder blow. Speaking at the end of the game, Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer dropped an update on the injury of Ashwin.

Meanwhile, the incident took place in the sixth over of the match. Ashwin was oozing with confidence after removing two Punjab batters in his first over, and thus, giving Delhi a good momentum.

Shreyas Iyer gives an update on injury of Ashwin

Glenn Maxwell pushed one passed the bowler to collect a single. Ashwin landed badly as he looked to stop the ball and seems to copped an injury. It looked bad right from the onset. The physio had to help Ravichandran Ashwin come out of the field as he looked in extreme pain.

Meanwhile, much to the joy of Delhi Capitals fans, Ravichandran Ashwin looked fine as he came out to take his award during the presentation ceremony. Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer also shared an update saying that Ashwin is doing good and the injury is not that grim.

“I briefly spoke to Ashwin, and he says he’ll be ready for the next game, but in the end, the physio is going to decide,” Iyer said in the post-match presentation.

If everything falls into place and Ravichandran Ashwin manages to take the field against Chennai Super Kings on September 25, it will be a massive boost for the side.

Meanwhile, it was Ashwin, who turned the game in Delhi Capitals’ favour. They managed to keep up the momentum before sealing the tie in a Super Over. Kagiso Rabada bowled an outstanding Super over dismissing KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran. There was no more drama in store as DC walked to their target of three to sneak through in what turned out to be quite the thriller.
