He explained, “We were targeting 45 in three overs, and that is very much gettable, and that was the mindset.” This showed the team’s belief in their ability to chase down any target, no matter how challenging it seemed. The match saw Gujarat Titans successfully chase down a target of 197 runs off the final ball, securing their third win of the season. Despite suffering their first defeat, Rajasthan Royals remained at the top of the IPL 2024 points table with eight points.
Rashid Khan’s outstanding performance in the match earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ award, further highlighting the crucial role played by individual players in the team’s success. Gill expressed his admiration for Rashid, describing him as “such a fantastic player” and someone “you always want in your team.”
