Team India captain Shikhar Dhawan was seen sharing words of wisdom with the Sri Lankan cricketers after a humiliating defeat in the 3rd T20I in Colombo. The Men in Blues went down by seven wickets to lose the series 2-1 for the first time in 19 years.

Batting first, India managed only 81 runs on a difficult Colombo wicket. Kuldeep Yadav was the highest run-scorer with 23 runs while Wanindu Hasaranga chipped in with 4/9 while captain Dasun Shanaka chipped in with 2 wickets. Only three Indian batters including Kuldeep managed to cross the single-digit figure.

Rahul Chahar tried to put India back on track in the second innings but they didn’t have the runs in the bag. Dhananjaya de Silva once again steered the run chase with an unbeaten 23 after Minod Bhanuka gave a brisk start as Sri Lanka pulled off a series win.

Despite the loss, India captain Shikhar Dhawan showed character to share his wisdom with the young Sri Lanka cricketers. He passed on to his knowledge, the process he undergoes to prepare for big matches with the youngsters.

“The boys wanted to know what’s my process” – Shikhar Dhawan

Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Dhawan believes that his experience can help the Sri Lankan cricketers going forward. He said:
