In a recent interview to BCCI TV, Smriti Mandhana revealed that legendary Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara is one of her inspirations in pursuing her passion. She said “Sangakkara sir, I was a huge fan of him, since the day I started to watch him on TV. Whenever I don’t feel good about my batting, I go home and watch his clips.”
It is to be noted that she had already taken a picture with Sangakkara a few weeks back which Smriti Mandhana shared with proud in the social media. The 22-year-old Smriti Mandhana also won the award for Best women’s cricketer in the BCCI awards.
Smriti Mandhana presence is really playing a vital role for the western storm. With a stunning average of 77.40, she amassed over 387 runs in the tournament. All eyes will be on her if she can take her side to the title.
