Renowned Hindi cinema actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood will inaugurate the first season of the Cricfit Premier League (CPL) scheduled to commence on January 14. The tournament will run until January 29 at the Thakur Village Cricket Stadium in Kandivali, East Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Sood, apart from his heroics in cinema, has been at the forefront during the coronavirus pandemic, helping people reach their homes kilometers apart amid the lockdown across the length and breadth of the country. Sonu Sood has almost turned into a national hero following his noble act to come to the rescue of thousands of migrants in the country.

From providing meals to the underprivileged and offering transport facilities for stranded labourers to get back to their hometowns, to donating personal protective equipment (PPE) to frontline healthcare personnel, he has done it all.

Sonu Sood will be present during the Cricfit Premier League opener on January 14 (Thursday) at 8:00 AM in the morning. Speaking to Cricfit, the actor, who hails from Moga seemed extremely excited to be a part of the tournament which aims to provide exposure to junior cricketers. He also wished all the participating cricketers the very best for the tournament.

Speaking about the tournament, Cricfit Premier League will see cricketers from four different age groups – U-12, U-14, U-16, and U-19 (boys and girls) ply their trade for the illustrious trophy. Meanwhile, the top two teams from each group of each age category will qualify for the knock-out stage.

The finals will be a 25-over game and will be played under the lights. All the matches of Cricfit Premier League will be live telecasted on social media platform – YouTube and Facebook which will be watched by cricket lovers from across the globe.
