Rishabh Pant so far is his international career has been hot and cold. As a result, KL Rahul has now been assigned to bat in the middle order and keep wickets for India in white-ball cricket. Whereas Wriddhiman Saha who is known for his outstanding glovework has only featured in Test matches.

Now while speaking to PTI, the BCCI president picked Saha and Pant as the two best wicket-keeper batsmen at present in India. Ganguly who has always admired the talent of Pant also backed him to find his form back after a mediocre IPL season.

“Pant and Wriddhiman Saha are our two best wicketkeeper-batsmen in the country. Don’t worry (about Pant). His bat swing will come back. He is a young guy and all of us need to guide him. He’s got tremendous talent. Rishabh will be fine”, Ganguly told PTI.

Meanwhile, both Pant and Saha have been picked in India’s Test squad for the Australia series. Away from home Pant has edged Saha and played in the side because of his exploits with the bat. Talking about who will play against Australia in Tests, Ganguly played it safe and stated that the one in the better form will find a place in the Indian squad.

“Only one can play, so whoever is in the best form will play”, Sourav Ganguly said.

Moreover, Pant will likely be picked ahead of Saha because of his superior batting record away from home. At just 23 years of age, Pant is the only Indian wicket-keeper batsman to smash Test centuries in Australia and England.
