Virat Kohli Tops Twitter Engagement List, MS Dhoni Not In Top 5 Among Cricketers

Virat Kohli continues to set new benchmark both on and off the field. The Indian cricket team captain has once again topped the Twitter engagement list of cricketers for October. Last month, Kohli was leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2020 which had everyone talking about him on Twitter.

Virat Kohli Was On The Most Talked About Cricketer On Twitter During October

Kohli was consistent with the bat in the season and led RCB to the IPL playoffs in the UAE. As far as Indian sportsperson is concerned Kohli was comfortably placed at 1 with 2.4 million engagements. Overall he was at the third position behind India prime minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi who had more engagement than Kohli on Twitter in October.

As per Twitteet, a social media analytics firm, PM Modi received over 7 million Twitter engagements at 72, 15,913 while Rahul Gandhi got 35, 53,825 engagements.

MS Dhoni Not In Top 5

Suresh Raina was at the second spot for cricketers as his fans continuously Tweeted about him after CSK’s lacklustre performance without him in the IPL. Surprisingly the crowd favourite MS Dhoni did not find a place in the top 5 of the Twitter engagement list after he struggled throughout the IPL season.

“The IPL was the flavour of the season for cricketers where expectedly India captain and expectant father Virat Kohli topped Twitter engagement with 2.4 million engagements. Suresh Raina was at #2 with 1.9 million engagements”,  Twiteet said in a press release.

Behind Kohli and Raina, the list includes former cricketers as Sachin Tendulkar was at number 3. While Aakash Chopra who has now become extremely popular among cricket enthusiast was the fourth position as he had over 9.6 lakhs engagements on Twitter in October. Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag were respectively at the 5th and 6th spot with over 6 lakh engagements on the popular social media platform.

“Former stars Sachin Tendulkar at #3, Harbhajan Singh at #5, and Virender Sehwag at #6, actively engage with fans and followers on Twitter with 1.5 million; 6.8 lakh and 6.3 lakh engagements. Aakash Chopra, now a commentator is also hugely popular and ranks #4 with over 9.65 lakh engagements on Twitter in October,” the press release added.
