Six-time finalists and host Australia lock horns with the underdogs Team India on the title clash of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup on March 8 – which is also the international women's day at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who coincidentally celebrates his birthday on this day, will be keen to be the first Indian women skipper to bring home the title.

Meanwhile, it was India, who gatecrashed Australia's party on the opening night, leaving them somewhat grappling with the weight of expectations of being defending champions in a home World Cup. The Asian giants, who have played fearless cricket so far in the competition will look to tick the right boxes for the final time in the tournament and bring home the coveted trophy.

For that, India will have to win a few personal battles against some of the legends of the game. Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana will go up against Megan Schutt, who will be leading the pace attack in the injury-forced absence of Ellyse Perry. Jess Jonassen continues to trouble Harmanpreet Kaur. The Indian captain herself is due for a big one, and Australia wouldn't want to be at the receiving end of it again.

India boast a strong record at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, who in all likelihood will witness a full house with all the tickets already sold out. The women in blues had done the unthinkable four years ago when they became the first Asian side to beat Australia in a T20I series in their own backyard. They have a shot at history again, in their first-ever final appearance with millions of Indians hoping the young girls bring home the trophy.

On the eve of the final encounter, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) send his luck to the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side. Hailing the entire for their show throughout the competition in Australia, Ganguly added that they have made the country proud.

"Good wishes to the indian women’s cricket team for the finals tomorrow .. They have made the country proud ..@BCCI," Sourav Ganguly wrote in a tweet.
