South Africa will tour Pakistan to play a Test and T20I series after a prolonged wait of 14 years. The two sides will play 2 Test matches and 3 T20Is between January 26 and February 14 next year. The two Test matches will be played at Karachi and Rawalpindi respectively. Whereas all the three T20I matches between Pakistan South Africa will be played at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore.

South Africa are scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on January 16. They will complete their mandatory quarantine period in Karachi before they will begin their outdoor training for the series. South Africa last played a Test series against the Men in Greens in 2007 where the visitors stunned the home side and cliched the 2 match series by 1-0.

South Africa To Tour Pakistan After 14 Years

It is going to be an action-packed cricket season for Pakistan at home as they also expected to host New Zealand, England and West Indies in 2021. England has already confirmed that they will be coming to Pakistan to play a 2 match T20I series just before the ICC 2021 T20 world cup in India next year.

“South Africa confirming a tour to Pakistan and playing matches at the three major centres is fabulous news for Pakistan cricket and its fans. South Africa is one of the most popular sides in Pakistan even though they last played here in 2007, but the fans have been following their performances closely and now look forward to welcoming them”, PCB director Zakir Khan said in a statement.

Complete Schedule Of South Africa’s Tour Of Pakistan:

January 26-30: 1st Test, Karachi
February 4-8: 2nd Test, Rawalpindi

1st T20I, Lahore February 11
2nd T20I, Lahore February 13
3rd T20I, Lahore February 14

Meanwhile, cricket is slowly but surely coming back to Pakistan in full flow. Earlier this year several international cricketers came to Pakistan to feature in PSL 2020. Also, last year Pakistan successfully hosted Sri Lanka for 2 Tests and 3 T20I matches. The likes of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe to have toured the land of fast bowlers in recent times for white ball series.
