Kolkata Knight Riders have received severe criticisms for their strategy so far in the Indian Premier League. The think tank of Dinesh Karthik and Brendon McCullum have missed a trick or two which has impacted their performances. Meanwhile, veteran fast bowler Sreesanth has called for a captaincy change to revive their performance in IPL 2020.

Kolkata skipper Dinesh Karthik has been through a rough patch with the bat and his poor form continued against Delhi Capitals. He promoted himself ahead of in-form Eoin Morgan but failed to provide the much-needed impetus. As a result, Kolkata Knight Riders went down chasing 229 runs at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Karthik just managed to score 6 runs off just 8 deliveries when Kolkata needed to score at a rate of over 10. Previously, Dinesh Karthik has registered 1 and 0 in the previous matches against Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Sreesanth calls for a captaincy change in KKR

As Karthik continues to fail with the bat and lead the team from the front, Sreesanth has called a change in leadership. The fast bowler from Kerala urged World Cup-winning Eoin Morgan to take up the duties if Kolkata Knight Riders want to perform better in IPL 2020.

“Genuinely feel @Eoin16 should lead the side,(surly not*dk kolaimandaaaiii)World Cup winning captain should surly lead ipl side.I hope #kkr looks at this issue.nd win ✌????they need a leader who will lead from front like Rohit ,Dhoni or Virat..what a player,” Sreesanth said.

Meanwhile, Eoin Morgan’s appointment can certainly help Kolkata Knight Riders revive their performance in IPL 2020. He has inspired England in recent times and build a team which went on to win the World Cup last year.  Kolkata are currently sitting in the fifth in the points table with two wins from four games.

Next up, the Knight Riders play Chennai Super Kings on October 7 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
